The day before yesterday, a colleague commented on Maya and that she now wanted a dog herself. And I thought to myself: would I?
After seeing Maya for myself yesterday, I do admit: a cuter face is hard to find. And seeing her again today and actually scratching behind her ears (she seemed to like that, her tail was going fast), it is definitely true: she is a major cutie-pie.
However, not once did I think: I want to take her home. Nor did I feel like I wanted a puppy or a grown-up dog. I knew it already, but dogs are great and cute and all that, but they're not for me.
Show me a kitten however...
Me too. I like dogs well enough, especially in someone else's home.
ReplyDeleteI hear you our first pet was a mighty mini dachshund...he was purrfect at the time we had him. I was a stay at home mom. I had no idea how stubborn Dachshunds can be when it comes to house training. I was often heard to say I'd rather potty train 10 children at once than one Dachshund.
ReplyDeleteAnyway we got it done and it was fun to have him go on walks with us and play. Once I started working it was obvious a cat was the exact pet we needed. After nearly 30 years living with Cats they are for me for sure. I love dogs too however at this stage in my life I'd have to be trained before I could train a dog

ReplyDeleteCecilia has hit the nailhead... dogs require that someone be their boss. Cats require someone they can boss around. Two different species fur sure!!! YAM xx
Unless the dog is a WHIPPET!! We are more catlike than CATS!!!
DeleteTwo different species entirely. But I am happy Miss Oswin and Brom get along so well...
DeleteAnd Charlie: if you're trying to sell me on the idea of getting a whippet, I don't think that will work. Not with the job I have right now.
....heheheheheh - yeah, but whippets can RUN... think triathlon training &*> Yxx
DeleteDogs are definitely more work then cats are!
ReplyDeleteWE understand. Living with US is not Easy... It has MANY MANY rewards... butt WE ARE DEMANDING. Thankfully our peeps don't mind.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Mara ..... Mum wishes she could look at puppy pictures without wanting another one. Same goes for cats with her. She loves both. Lucky she's got Dad to keep her grounded or she could become one of those animal hoarders.
ReplyDeleteI can look at photos of kittens, but I will not see them in the flesh so to say. I know what will happen then and I don't think it's a good idea to have more than one feline around here.
DeleteShe does look like a keeper.
