Coocoo
Today was our only free day before the road trip, but Mara and Gera had some shopping to do. So, off we went to town. The first thing on the list was new glasses for Mara. And while we were there, I thought I might get my eyes checked too.
The eye-checker was very surprised after Mara's check. She had gone from +1,75 to -1 in her left eye! Very strange. But when he tried on the new glasses, they found that she could see as well with her old ones as with an adjusted pair. So, they decided not to get the adjusted ones.
Even though I only have one eye and that is not too good either, they also decided that I wouldn't need glasses. Which is a relief, because they would have been hard to find in my size!!
After the glasses, we went for some lunch and then after lunch we went to the clothes shops. There were some outfits I liked and I was willing to pose for a photo with Mara, but there was one outfit that was so horrid and ugly and pyjama-like, I refused. The ones that I did pose with though, were ones she bought!
Right now we are nearly ready to go. The car is clean and everything that needs filling is filled. The suitcases are nearly filled as well and the only thing left to do is have one more sleep and then we're off on our road trip.
+1.75 to -1.00?? Our mom knows a thing or two about opticianry cuz she used to make glasses. She said that was VERY weird? Actually she said that eye doctor needs to recheck lol!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
He told me I should have one done on another day and with a different opticien. If it was still the same... For now though, the 'new' glasses were as good as the old, so I kept the old! Saved some money there!!
DeleteHave a wonderful holiday with your family Mara!!
ReplyDeleteTake lots of photos too
Hugs madi and mom
ReplyDeleteHave a safe journey and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteACtually, Brom, you can tell Mara that the same thing happened in my left eye when I was younger (20s)... I had taken up cycling and was out and about more (ie reading less) and also eating better and it was decided the eye had simply been 'lazy'... Meanwhile, I think you are a most lucky bear, to be able to travel with the girls and to see so very much with your one poorly eye!!! Hugs and growlies, YAM-aunty xxx
(pee ess - tell Mara the blue and white top is very pretty!)
She wore it all day and was very happy with it.
DeleteAnother exciting adventure awaits.
ReplyDeleteOh, Brom! You will stay busy making sure Mara and her sister stay out of trouble! Sisters have so much fun together. pssstt, tell Mara she is surely showing the results of training!
ReplyDeleteWell, she won't be for much longer, if she keeps eating all that food she is right now!!!
DeleteGood news on yours and Mara's eyes! Hope you had a great day.
