Camera Critters 12

Photo taken in Cona, Italy on a buffalo farm. Since they are waterbuffaloes, they need water to cool down and will move in and out of the water during the day. The milk of those ladies was used to make yummy mozzarella.

For more critters from around the world, please go to Camera Critters and join in the fun.

  1. They look a little crowded! Interesting picture.
    Sunny :)

  2. Oh my, before reading I thought they were in a flood!
Does look a little crowded. :)

  3. They look like they're enjoying a cool dip, even if it is a little close in there with all their friends.

  4. they had fun while swimming, yes they looks so crowded, they need big pond or a big lake..

  5. wow it looks yummy, I would love to taste some mozzarella!LOL
Fabulous post, thanks for sharing and Happy Camera Critters

  6. I'm holding my nose looking at this picture! I'm sure bubbles must be rising to the surface!

  7. I had no idea they raised water buffalo in Italy. I love your banner with the photo of the old Fiat.

    An Arkies Musings

  8. They really demonstrate why they are called waterbuffaloes. Great shot. Somewhere in Groningen there is an Italian who makes real buffalo mozzarella; yummy indeed. I've heard he has a herd of buffaloes running around in the fields around his home.

Daar zal menig Groningse boer raar van hebben opgekeken: 'Wa bint da veur beest'n?' Hihi.
Fijn dat je 'me trouw bent gebleven'. Gaat alles goed met jou en met het poezenspul?

  9. Oh, I love it! And I love mozzarella, too! MMm!

They still have their horns! They seldom leave them on the cattle here for fear they'll damage each other at close quarters.

Love the car up there, too. Boy, is that looking battered! That's what you get for driving in Rome, huh? LOL!
