Ugly and looking as if a foreigner lived there. Yes, that's what was said about my curtains. My lovely light yellow, home sewn curtains. So, in order for you to make your own minds up, I took a photo and let you decide for yourself. Be as honest as you like (although a bit of sweet talk about how I made them myself etc always goes down well)...
I have some fabric which I intended to use to make curtains, but I can't see to thread a needle any more, although I can watch TV and drive a car, and my glasses don't help with the thread, so the fabric is still in my closet.
ReplyDeleteI think your curtains look sweet and I think it's great you made them yourself.
I'm not sure about the "foreigner" part. If people make remarks like that to me, I usually throw them out of my house.

They look fine to me. Maybe she needs glasses. I am a fan of yellow.
ReplyDeleteSince I would never undertake to sew curtains, I think they're marvelous. What could be better than sun-shiny curtains?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the glare of the window outside made her think your curtains were an ugly grey. Sometimes grey is ugly. Yellow is not.
ReplyDeleteIf they please you that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed that you made them yourself! I think the fabric looks very pretty. They must have looked differently from the street!
ReplyDeleteYou rate highly in my book if you can sew your own curtains. But as I found to my cost, things can look different from the outside. I didn't realise until I saw mine from outside - and closed - that the curtain lining had a big rip in it!
ReplyDeleteI would use them!
ReplyDeleteIf they were gray, hee hee
I am not sure what your curtains have to do with foreigners, but I'm a guy, so the curtains are fine with me.
ReplyDeleteCurtains - good.
ReplyDeleteHurtful people - not so good.
