Romeo, Romeo, where art thou Romeo!? Yes, this is the balcony of Romeo and Juliet fame. Although it isn't. Not really. It can't be you know, as the story of Romeo and Juliet was thought up by Billy S. But the people of Verona don't let the fact that it is a fictional story hinder them.
I was there back in 1999 when I visited Italy with a friend. The main memory of Verona however is not this balcony, but pizza as it was the first time I actually ate a pizza and liked it. I have eaten many since.
Was it that you hadn't eaten pizza before or hadn't eaten one that you liked? It must have been the latter. Eh?
ReplyDeleteHet standbeeld staat in Karmoy (Noorwwegen) en is opgericht door een koperfabriek ter ere van hun 25 jarig jubileum in 2004.
ReplyDeleteYep, Norway on Karmøy, close to where you lived.

ReplyDeleteWell, for once, I didn't know. Other than it is clearly a copy of the statue of Liberty... so I got curious (you know me!)... turns out there are gazillions of copies and there are actually three in Norway alone!!! Very interesting. YAM xx
We certainly recognize that statue as the Statue of Liberty but it surely isn't the one in NY harbor.
ReplyDeleteWell I've been to New York to see the Statue of Liberty but I believe there is one in France. It was in a National Treasure movie.
ReplyDeleteBack in 1987 we took our daughter to NYC for her 16 bday. Saw all the sights and climbed the Statue of Liberty back then you could go inside the torch.
