Sand

Yep, that's me digging a hole in the sand.
I am sure I slept like a baby that night!
I don't usually mentioned my nights. Basically because that's the time I sleep and not much else happens then. Well, apart from dreaming and they can get pretty weird and colourful. Last night however, sleep would not come.

I went to bed at a decent time (around midnight, since I don't have to work today) and then I lay in the bed. Facing the window. Then the ceiling. Then the door. Back to the window. And the ceiling. And... You get it.

About an hour into this I decided it wasn't going to happen any time soon, so I might as well get my book out. I read for about half an hour (the heroine was getting locked up by then) and tried again. Again though: no luck. Back to the book it was.

By the time the sun was close to getting up (at around 4am), I must have finally fallen asleep. Only to be woken up at 9am for some reason. It will have to be an early night tonight, I just hope the Sandman will come sooner...

Oh Mara, if I had a dollar for every night I have had like that since the late 40s of my years... there might be a flight to Norway in it!!! In the past week, there have been three such nights. They are my new normal. I no longer fret about them - they become useful 'think tank' times... good luck for tonight. YAM xx

    1. I don't think I would get as far as the next town! Fortunately I usually don't have any trouble sleeping, just once in a while it proves to be an impossibility. I just hope it will remain once in a while.

  2. There's something magical about 4 o'clock. Before I resorted to sleeping pills to preserve my sanity, 4AM was often the time of transition for me.

  3. Dad and ghostwriter have nights like that. Not me! I can sleep anytime, anywhere!

    1. The same with Miss Oswin. I am quite jealous!

  4. I never struggled with sleep until I lost my estrogen levels. That's the only reason I take low dose estrogen, so I can sleep.

    1. Well, being tired one day will definitely get me to sleep the next day, so no need for pills just yet.

  5. I don't have too much trouble falling asleep, but staying asleep is a different matter. I fall asleep at 10PM and wake up at 2AM and can't back to sleep...ugh!
