The clearing in my head

Lately I have been telling you about my walks. I see animals, views, castles, grass, trees. I walk in the sunshine, the wind, the rain, the hail, the snow. And one reason I do walk, beside the medals and the getting fit, is the fact that it clears my head.

I find that when I'm walking, I can't keep a thought in my head for very long. It's not meditation as such, but it does come quite close. Lately however...

... I find that things are getting to me again. Like they did back when I lived in Northern Ireland. Not as bad mind and not for the same reasons, but the grrr feelings are returning.

I talked it over with someone, explaining how I felt, saying how this Corona virus has me stopped in my tracks regarding making friends or even acquaintances. The answer I got: 'well, that is the same for everybody'. This person knows my history. Knows what I went through. Yet, I felt I had been dismissed with that answer.

Don't get me wrong: I know a lot of people have the same or similar problems. But that doesn't make it a lesser issue. Not for them, not for me.

I walk. It clears my head.

The situation and causative factors may be the 'same for everybody' - but the effects are entirely individual and no two are ever the same! Walking is good. Very good. A recognised and recommended form of natural therapy which one can measure for oneself. Keep that walking going, gal!!!

I know what you mean about the connecting - here I am finally back in the Hutch fulltime, and even the local library hasn't been available to me as a source of interaction. Next month, maybe... YAM xx

    1. That's the thing isn't it: you finally have the time and nothing is allowed or possible. So annoying! One day though, one day...

  2. That was terribly empathetic, but maybe she was feeling it too.

  3. We're glad the walks help you clear your head. Our paws are crossed that this nasty virus will be over soon and everyone can get back to seeing their friends and making new ones.

  4. I find walking on my treadmill clears my head too. I like listening to some music too.
The effects of Covid are not the same for everyone. ((Hugs))

  5. Walking is an excellent way to help you mentally and physically.
Especially now that the birds are out and about singing their songs and weather is getting better. I'm sorry your felt your feelings were dismissed. That was not fair. Each of us has our very own emotions and they COUNT. I hope maybe soon you can visit at least out of doors with friends and maybe your siblings can come visit too.
I might have missed information on your work schedule during this pandemic.
    Hugs Cecilia

  6. Each day I wake up with a burden on my chest there is so much to do in paperwork and I loose so much time ! I hope it will get better now that R is in rehabilitation ! The worst is I can't ask him anything, he has all forgotten ! Sometimes he is normal but never for long.
