Time to change the bed. And since the temperatures have dropped lately...
I had to get out the thin summer duvet (it was so cold here this summer, I only used my thicker spring/autumn duvet) and connect it to the thicker one again. Making a lovely warm winter duvet.
Then it was time for severe struggles with the duvet cover. And now the bed is ready for me!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely the season... as I was changing my bed yesterday I was wondering about putting on the extra cover! Am trying to hold off until at least next weekend, as November races at us... YAM xx
Since I was already using the thicker of the two separate ones with extra blankets, I felt that the winter version would be fine. Besides, my window is mostly open, so my room is quite cold anyway. Which I love!
DeleteWe're not there yet. Sue just mentioned that we hadn't switched to flannel sheets yet.
ReplyDeleteOh I don't want to be changing duvets yet.
ReplyDeleteIt was necessary here. Even with higher temperatures when the sun is out, the nights are already quite chilly. Plus that infernal ever present wind!
DeleteLooks comfy cozy....enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt is 17 degrees C here today and folks are wearing jackets. That could be because two weeks ago it was 33 C.
ReplyDeleteI have started wearing my winter coat as well, although the last few days it really has been a bit too warm outside for that.
DeleteOur Oma had a feather blanket with a duvet. It was great in winter. She gave it to my Jessy in Florida, although I doubt she'll need it much there. But Jessy says it brings back good memories of sleeping at Oma's house on a cold winter night.
ReplyDeleteI slept under feather duvets during a stay in Austria I believe: hated it! It wasn't compartmentalised, which meant that all the feathery goodness was at your feet while your hands were grabbing on to nothingness!
DeleteYes, we made the seasonal change here too!

Pfew! I am not the only one then!!
