After the day where they said we had only two proper days of summer (about 2 weeks ago now), we did have a few really lovely days. Not that it did me much good, since I had to work long shifts on those days. Last Friday however, that all changed.
For a start I didn't have to work and instead went to town with my friend and Mouse. We saw the swords, we went shopping, we had a great time. By the end of the day though, the clouds had rolled in and the first drops started to fall.
They haven't stopped since!
Heavy rain, some sunshine and more heavy rain. This morning I was caught in a rain/hail shower as I was getting from the bus to the canteen. Running did not help much, nor did the temperature. I was cold when I got back on the bus an hour later and actually had to turn the heating up.
Since I haven't got much inspiration to make this a better post than is, I thought I would take some random photos to go with the non-story. Both photos are taken from my living room. The first shows the lights of the stadium (the big light is reflection of one of my lamps). Our local football club may be out of any international league (lost to some Polish club), but a nearby football club is doing just fine thank you very much. And tonight they are playing Barcelona! Not too shabby. See, women do tend to do better (it's the ladies from Avaldsnes against the ladies of Barcelona in the Champions League)!!
The second photo is of something I have shown before. It's the oil platform and I said at the time I could see it from my living room. Here's the proof!

ReplyDeleteI am the queen of views from windows, and if you keep it up, you could be the lady-in waiting! congrats on making something out of nothing so interesting. &*> YAM xx
The lady-in-waiting eh? Any perks come with that?
Delete...&*> not without possibility! Yx
DeleteThat is one big rig! And you have boats outside your window. Are you familiar with the comedian, Seinfeld? He had a tv series that ran for about 13 years. He said it was a show about nothing. So blogs about nothing should fit right in.
ReplyDeleteI have seen that show once or twice. Or parts of it anyway. Never really grabbed me that much, although granted, I was probably a bit young to understand too.
DeleteAs for the boats outside my window: it's a boat dealership. The only water we have around here is rain water and plenty of it!
I think I have said before that our summer didn't start until around mid-September, but it lasted for 2 weeks instead of 2 days. Oddly winter, spring and summer were wetter than usual, but Sept was drier.
ReplyDeleteWe know about dreary, cloudy weather here in WNY. Fortunately, we still have some fine sunny days, and are enjoying them while they last. We know around the middle of November the cold dark times begin and don't let up until the end of March.
ReplyDeleteToday was supposed to be nice. And until the rain started: it was. It's nice again now, but I can already see the dark clouds rolling in again as well.
