Now, anyone who has read my blog for some time has noticed I don't reply on my blog itself. Basically because I always found it a hassle. I had come up with a perfect solution though: I would reply via email. Which worked perfectly.
Until of course people started commenting with a no-reply email address. Which left answering questions impossible. I had seen a feature on my other blogs though: reply to the comment itself on the blog. I liked that feature, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to do that!
Fortunately there is a little thing called google and within seconds I had my answer. So, as of today I can answer your comment directly on my blog. Don't know how much I will be using it, since some answers might need a bit more in depth answer than I am willing to share publicly.
In other news: spring clean today and then off to see a bit of the world tomorrow! Because it is HOLIDAY!!
I don't like this feature at all ! I never go back to the post I have commented ! It would take a lot of time to go twice and see an answer. I like the email answers. If somebody has a comment to do on my comment, on the blog, I would never read it ! Imagine you comment on 20 blogs and then you start to go back again which makes 40 blogs ! No thank you ! Those who have no email don't get an answer on their questions, as simple as that !
ReplyDeleteI don't like the reply on a blog post. Who ever goes back to read them. The no-reply is because people sign up with Google+ which makes them a no-reply but they can fix that if they take the time to follow directions.

ReplyDeleteActually - I do return to those blogs where I know there will be a reply; like my own, you can say whether you intend to or not - and of course you only need reply where pertinent and there is absolutely nothing to stop you continuing to use the email as backup for your regular and trusted blogpals. Replies are important where you want to establish more than just 'bookface' style loose connections.
Now... I am curious - is Scotland on the travel itinerary??? &*<> YAM xx
Well, since you will come back, I will answer you right here. No, Scotland is not on my itinerary this time. This time it is Northern Ireland. However, I would love to see Scotland again, since I have only been there twice. If and when, I will give you plenty of notice so we can meet up!!
DeleteAnd I am not Gera, I am Mara, the big sister! Of course. Typing at my sister's computer.
Delete...it took a coupla days to get back due to my being on the travel again myself. Good to hear you may get here again and you know you will be more than welcome... and watch out - Norway is on my bucket list!! YAM xx
DeleteWell good for you for figuring it out! I like your comments on my e mail, but don't want you to feel you have to reply to every one I make. But I always enjoy your replies. I go back to my old comments to see if there is a reply on some blogs, but usually only if I think I made a thought provoking comment in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI've had computer problems for more than a week, which I think (hope) are just about fixed now. Hard drive died on the PC and my new lap top wasn't configured properly. Been an expensive month!
I'm curious about the sign, too, because I don't remember you saying you're going there.
ReplyDeleteI wish I were going to Scotland. Seems we might be going to Europe again soon (Dick found a bargain price) but, alas, not to Scotland.
Luv, K
Do they get this by email, but you just don't know the address, or do they still have to go back to the post?
ReplyDeleteOh, my, there are some strong opinions about this! Since I'm on WordPress, I have it set up that my replies are on my blog and are emailed. I'm not sure if Blogger offers this.
ReplyDeletejaniceadcock@yahoo.com is good for me. Please, do not feel you have to respond to my comments. If one participates in many blogs a person can spend an entire day on the computer.
