Easter lily

This was taken a few weeks ago, after a lovely walk. I was sitting on the rock beside the house and enjoying the sun while wondering how long it would take for the Easter lilies to open up!

This view is from my kitchen window and no, the weather today is not sunny. It is in fact rather drab and miserable. But the perfectly named flowers are blooming in time for Easter!

  1. As the temperatures raised so early this year, the Easter lilies are already gone and now the lilly of the valley are in full bloom they should come out for the 1st of May ! We even have strawberries already !

  2. Absolutely beautiful, I love when the bulbs are planted to just come up randomly throughout a yard or hillside.

Narcissus Pseudonarcissus (amaryllidaceae), or the daffodil, one of the best bulb flowers ever - next to the tulip of course! Had never heard it called Easter Lily before... but I like that name for it. Ours are mostly gone and the tulips here now. Just filled two vases with them. .... sigh.... YAM xx

  4. Yeah, Yamini, the Easter Lily designation is new to me too. I I do love them, whether they're daffs or lilies.

  5. Beautiful flowers. We had lots of these in our last yard. Had never heard them called lilies, either. That is part of what I love about the internet, learning about other cultures.
