I wasn't bothered by vampires last night. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not usually bothered by them anyway, but last night I definitely wasn't. Because I had chicken for dinner. No ordinary chicken though, chicken absolutely covered with garlic. We could smell it from the restaurant and we were sitting furthest from the kitchen!
The job I had to do yesterday was to drive some insurance company to their annual new year's reception. While waiting before we were due to leave again I and several other drivers plus the support staff had dinner at a chicken restaurant. Starting off with rather a bland chicken soup, followed by garlic with chicken wings, accompanied by nice chunky fries and salad. Afters was a tasty yet quite boring ice cream. Although I wouldn't really have like a chicken chocolate mousse instead!
Fortunately I'm off today, so all that garlic can work itself out of my system, even if it does come in handy for warding off vampires!
Consider your book purchased. You have me looking into Blurb. I've always planned to, but I may be starting sooner than I had thought. It will be a long process for me because I don't have 26 ready-to-go posts. I have to go back a long way (to 2004) and pick and choose. There will also be editing to do. But I have wanted to do it for a few years, so I may as well begin the process.
ReplyDeleteVery funny, garlic chicken and vampires. You do seem to be able to see the story in every occasion! I just know you're going to write something hilarious about the two old fogeys from Canada this spring! ;~)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, "borken" was supposed to be "broken" - the pay-at-the-pump feature was broken, so when Dick bought gas, he had to go inside to pay.

French fries are (one) of my weaknesses! Those look so yummy, you have my mouth watering! And while I like garlic, sometimes there is too much of a good thing.

ReplyDeleteNow I would have nightmares after eating all that before I went to bed, -- not necessarily about vampires, tho'.
