Airbus

I work for a company that owns a lot of buses, it being a bus company and all. However, sometimes those buses need shifting. And when they are no longer 'drivable', yet need to be taken away, the heavies come in!

Last week several buses on our lot were to be taken to a scrap yard, because they were too old to be used in day to day service or had been too damaged due to a crash. And as I headed home one day I saw a bus flying. Yes, it was in mid-air! Very disconcerting. But after its flight, it was landed safely on the back of a deep-loader to be taken away.

In Sydney, the main company started a policy of donating their out-of-service buses to African countries... not exactly sure how much of a charitable thing that was, considering the state of some! (Not sure they are still doing that either, as they were taken over by the big French co. Transdev...) YAM xx

    1. Oh yes, Transdev. I worked for them as well (when the company I worked for was taken over). In the olden days most of those old buses were shipped off to farawayistan and their neighbours, but nowadays environmental questions are important as well. Mind you, some of the buses off to the scrap yard were 'salvaged for parts' already, so wouldn't have been much use.

  4. We watched a TV show about a company that moves around big rigs. It is amazing! We hope they don't drop one!

  5. That must have been something to see! Reminds me of when we had our spa installed and they had to use a crane to lift it above the roof of the house to get it in the backyard.
