Mara said I had to tell you a little about myself. Well, that is very easy: I am a cat and the most beautiful at that! Anybody who says different should have their eyes checked! .... Oh, Mara says I can't talk like that, because there are plenty of really beautiful cats out there. Well. That is her opinion! Wrong of course, but I will teach her yet.
I came to live with Mara last year after I lived in a very busy house. There were two two-leggers, a four-legged horrid creature .... oh, Mara says that was a dog .... two other cats and my little baby. Yes, I had a little baby. Four actually, but three didn't make it. The reason I lived in this very busy house was that I was living in a garage with my babies and somebody thought that wasn't very good. So, we were given a new home. But that was only until Mara came and picked me out of a lot of other cats! Because I was the most beautiful cat there!
I have lived at Mara's now for a year. She is really nice as well. She gives good cuddles and she gives me lots of nice food. I was a bit skinny last year, but now I am much bigger and of course even more beautiful. I especially love the dried fish treats she gives me when I come in the house again. Mmmmiaow.
My name is Oswin which is NOT a boy's name at all! It was the name of the girl on Doctor Who and Mara loves the Doctor! On this blog I am called Miss Oswin though. As a mark of respect for the most beautiful cat in the world universe! But perhaps it should have been Princess, since my birthday is on April 27th, which also happens to be the birthday of the King of the Netherlands. I turned two this year and got a big bowl of nice things to eat! .... Oh, Mara says that now it's the silly orange teddy's turn! Don't know why, he is stuffed and all!

Yes, it's me again. I know it's not a holiday now, but Mara told me people want to know who I am! Well, that is very simple. My name is Brom (which is the sound bears make in Dutch) and I am a girl. But I would prefer it if you were to refer to me as 'he'. Thank you.
I was given to Mara when Mara was only a toddler. That is about 42 years ago. We have travelled all over: to grandparents and aunts, to friends and strangers. I've been in Yugoslavia and France and Italy and England and Germany and Belgium. But I never really saw much, except the bedroom, although I was allowed to travel on a bus once in Germany.
Now though I am allowed to come on trips which is really great. I get to see so many things and meet so many really lovely people. And most people are really good cuddlers! I love good cuddlers. I don't get to blog once a week like Oswin and I don't mind. Because I get to blog about all the new, strange and wonderful things and people Mara and I see and meet when we're on holiday. Every day! Our next trip will be to Scotland and I am very excited about that. Mara is even going to sew me a kilt so I will fit in! Mara says I have to finish now. But please come back in August! *Cuddle*
Hi Miss Oswin and Brom, I like your name very much... and my momma too (because of that dogtor lol) and I'm glad that you are still there Brom... it's great to share all that memories from the past together, right?

Mara says the Doctor is the best. I don't know about that, I don't watch television. I prefer looking out of the window! Miss Oswin
DeleteI had to be fixed up a bit two years ago, Mara is such a good cuddler that I was a bit the worse for wear. But now I am as good as new and ready to make new memories. Brom

A big "Howdy" from Texas on this Monday. Miss Oswin, you are quite the beauty!!! Brom, are there lots of bear in the Netherlands? Bears grrrrowwww in the US. There are not many bears in Texas. Do take care. Looking forward to seeing that spiffy kilt.
ReplyDeleteMara says there aren't as many as there used to be. Tiny two-leggers get rabbits and stuff now! So, I am quite rare, especially because I am so cuddly. Oh, and orange. And I can't wait to see the kilt either.

Welcome to Blogville Miss Oswin and Brom. We are 2 shetland sheepdogs who live in NEw Jersey. Your adventures with Brom sound exciting.
ReplyDeleteI don't have adventures with Brom! He is just a silly orange teddy whereas I am the most beautiful cat in the universe! There is a very big difference there! Miss Oswin
DeleteNew Jersey? I had to look it up and it looks like a long way away from Norway. Perhaps me and Mara will go there someday to be tourists. Brom

Welcome to Blogville--all of you. We don't know any cats personally, probably because we bark at them.........
ReplyDeleteWe'll be excited about your trip to Scotland, because two of us are Scottish terriers. Look forward to hearing about all of your adventures.
You shouldn't bark at us cats. We are the nice ones. Those silly orange teddies, now there is another story! Miss Oswin
DeleteWelcome to Blogville. We don't know any cats in the furs, just those who live in Blogville. BUTT we are sure you will be very happy here. BTW, we are looking forward to seeing you in your new kilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Mara said it was actually quite hard to find a pattern for the kilt. So far she only found one for a GI Joe or for a two-legger! Nothing for orange teddies! But I know she can do it... Brom
DeleteYou are a beautiful cat! So good to have you here in Blogville!
ReplyDeleteWell, it should have gone without saying, but I don't mind trumping my own horn a bit. Miss Oswin
DeleteWelcome to Blogland!! Lots of friends are here!
