Weekly Travels 22-22

Last week’s challenge was definitely easy and difficult in one. I think everybody realised this was a church, but that is not enough folks! I wanted to hear ‘stave’ church and only one person said that and knew where it was. Gerrit gets s whole point. And 1/4 point to those who had Norway somewhere in their answer: Harm, Gera and Yamini.
My story? On my very first visit to Norway in April 2012, I saw this stave church in Heddal, about 120 km West of Oslo. It think it was open, but too dark for photos.

On to this week’s challenge. Which is a bit different as I have run out of good scenic postcards. Although I do still want as much info for the points of course. So, who is this and from what country is she? Have you ever met this person or been to that country? Tell us your story. Answer next week.

Well, immediate response at seeing this painted image is Anne of Green Gables - so one can only meet her by reading the book(s) - which I did, many a long year back! But your question has me wondering if this is actually someone entirely different... YAM xx

  2. That has got to be Anne of Green Gables. I read the book when I was in my teens. I am sure there has been a TV series of the books too. I have been to Canada, but not the part the books are set in. I stayed with a cousin in Toronto and I remember going to Niagara Falls, also went to Winnipeg to stay with a friend. We went to see an outdoor production of a Shakespeare play.

  3. We know this one! That is Anne Shirley from the book "Anne of Green Gables". She lived on Prince Edward Island in Canada with her a adoptive parents Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert who were siblings. There have been a few TV adaptations of the book and some of the subsequent books written continuing "Anne's" story. I could go on but I don't want to re-write the books. LOL!

  5. It is so unique and beautiful. No story here. I have never been much of a reader. Out of the blue Anne of Green Gables came into my mind, then I Googled her. So after it came to mind I cheated!!!

  7. First, I do not know but I will make up two stories. Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz still at her Kansas home. Or it is Wendy in front of her grandparents home in the USA. That is Wendy of the hamburger chain fame. Never met either of these folks. Have watched The Wizard of Oz and eaten at Wendy's several times.
