Easy does it

After three days on the Glasgow Express (yes, that's what it's called), I am now off until next Monday. It's quiet at work due to it being Halloween week. Which gives me some time to do things I have been putting off for a while.

I really need to put my mice together. I knit them on board the ferry, but will only put them together at home, as I have all the materials I need, like stuffing. I could take it with me of course, but the thing I carry on board is full enough as it is (it also contains some books to read while knitting).

Then there is the Christmas fabric that I unearthed. I want to make a sort of quilt out of it. Not a fancy one, just squares sewn together without pattern. I have borrowed my sister's sewing machine for it, as my own has some problems that I still haven't solved.

I have lots of photos and such to sort out. Probably not to be thrown out, but scanned, so I can actually use them on my blog on occasion. I have so many lovely photos I would love to share, but they are all still in albums and even though I have scanned some photos over the years, there are still a huge amount left!

When I have done all that, there will probably be another box waiting to get sorted. Not sure what will be in it yet, but I will get to it when I get to it. So, enough to do (and then some)...

    1. Oh, I waste plenty of time, don't worry. But I do get some things done as well.

  2. Scanning photos is a pain. I should do a lot more.

  3. Mara I can tell from your photos that N. Ireland and surrounding areas are as gorgeous as my mind's eye thought they were.

I was sharing the tale of your mice to a couple of folk recently and wondered that hadn't seen any new ones appearing for a while. (Must check my link is stil working!) I love that you make those long trips work in your favour with knitting and reading! YAM xx

    1. I did make some in September and have actually sold 4 of those! Am now busy with several projects at once, which is diluting everything a bit, but should have two or three mice coming up pretty soon!

  5. Okay, I'm a new reader so I have to ask: you're in Ireland but drive the Glasgow Express? And you can knit and read at the same time? I can barely knit.

    1. Hi Liz, welcome to my blog! Always nice to meet new readers.

I live in Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK and we have a service run going from Belfast to Glasgow and back every day. It's not that far really, only driving for about 2,5 hours. It's just that ferry...

Yes, I can knit and read at the same time. As long as it's only straightforward knitting and nothing fancy. Also, it needs to be an e-book, because the pages of regular books won't stay put without something heavy on top, which make it impossible to read the page!

  6. Your photos are really nice. Is it still warm there? We've been having cold rain all this week and could use some sunshine. Have a good weekend off!

    1. Warm? Ehm, not really! I have had to scrape the windscreen several times now and my bedroom window freezes over (on the outside) during the night.

  7. A day to catch up is so nice for working folks like yourself. I still have tubs of photos of my parents and in laws to get scanned. Then I can start on my own. Ugh. You have some beauties in this post.

    1. I have so many things I want to get done, it is a pick-and-choose thing. What to do first. But, slowly, things seem to get done.

As for the photos in this post: the subject was good. I especially like the last one though. And the new header was good as well.
