Miss Oswin in the snow

Miaow

I don't know what that woman thinks, but honestly, why would a cat like snow? Do I look like a Snow Leopard? Or a Siberian Tiger? Yes, of course I have some Norwegian Forest Cat in me somewhere, but that is mostly my tail! Mind you, I did go out on my own, so I have to give her that.

That snow however is awful. It's cold, it sticks to my feet and tummy and fur, it get's in my eyes and sits on my tail and even worse: this snow was wet snow. It would turn to water immediately, making me wet. Did I ever tell you that cats don't like water?? And don't you start telling me about Ocelots and Fish Cats and Sumatran Tigers and such. They are freaks of nature!

Mara decided though that five minutes out in that wet snow was enough for her and I completely agreed! Sometimes it's better to be inside and watch what happens outside!

PS: update 1: The headache hadn't lessened and I am now on my second sick leave day. Knowing the pattern of headaches from the past, I should be well enough again by tomorrow.

Update 2: I managed to get off that roundabout last Sunday without any damages. A colleague today was not so lucky. Six of his passengers were hurt when the main road he drove on (so, not where I had my trouble) turned out to be very slippery and he hit a concrete wall. The driver himself was trapped for a while before they managed to get him out. None of them were badly hurt though, but still: don't play with the weather!

  2. Wet feet no way. Once my front feets stepped in a little puddle of water on the kitchen floor. Mom laughed at my wet paw dance. I'd lift one shake it off then do the other. She said I was doing the hokey pokey.
Whoa that is some smash up on the roundabout. Thank goodness you navigated it. We hope your head continues to improve.
    Hugs madi and mom

  3. When we have the granddog, she seems to enjoy the bad weather and the messier she get the better. Oh the turmoils of pets.

I am glad the other driver and passengers are ok. That area of the road is so dangerous. I hope you feel better soon.

    1. We are more into comfort here. We love going out, but when it's icky snow, it's much better to be in. Much much better.

It wasn't the same stretch of road, but it was still going down. One slippery patch and 'concrete wall, here I come'!

  4. I do hope your headache holds to form and is gone by now.

I am somewhat surprised to see such problems with buses. On local highways, they zoom on by me in bad weather. Of course, that is highway driving.

  5. Hey Miss Oswin!
Wow, you look gorgeous today, of course! I don't blame you for not liking the wet stuff. ICK Well, you do sort of resemble the bobcats in my territory. They're gorgeous too. Hugs to Mara!

Good grief Miss O - has Mara not yet knitted for the kitty??!!!
U1 - sorry it didn't go, but here's to it behaving per usual
U2 - yikes... it's split-second stuff though; one minute you're facing forward, next your heels of hair. The black ice on the pavements here is treacherous.

Not that anyone here has direct experience or anything... YAM xx

    1. Well, I am coming close to knitting with the kitty! She keeps wanting attention when I am knitting and her tail keeps getting caught up! So, it might just happen one day that some of her tail will end up in my knitwork!!

  10. Crikey Miss Oswin .... you mightn't like it but you sure look pretty in the snow. I hope Mara's headache is all better by now and tell her to take care whilst at work. Wouldn't want her crashing HER bus like that. Glad everyone was ok. Well I guess the bus wasn't.

    1. The bus certainly wasn't. A lot of damage done to it. And I am being careful. Slowing down when needed and keeping a bigger distance as well.

  12. OH, NO! I'm glad it wasn't you (Mara) driving that bus! You have had enough bus drama to last your whole life. Here's to a headache-free tomorrow!
