She has arrived

This morning we made our way to Dublin again. Over an hour and a half to get there. I had asked on my arrival yesterday where we had to go to collect Miss Oswin and knew sort of. But when I asked, we were supposed to be in another building. So, off we went to the other building.

We asked there and we had arrived at the right building, but she had not arrived yet. Another half hour would do it they said. Half an hour later we made our way to the building again and she had arrived. They gave me back her passport and a form that needed to be stamped by customs. So, we we142n555555 (sorry, that was Miss Oswin wanting to write something) went back to the first building where I had to fill out a short form and then got a stamp.

Back to building number two and after paying yet more money, we were able to get her out. And we could travel back to Northern Ireland. Which meant sitting in a car with an unhappy cat in the back seat. Only when we were completely silent would she eventually go quiet as well and we did want to say a few words on occasion.

When we got home, we released her from her crate and she immediately started to explore. She has found the food and water bowls, she has found the litter box and she has tried to give everything her scent. It will take a few more days for her to get completely settled, but I think that, by what she's been showing so far, she will be doing fine!

In other news: we tried to open a bank account today for me, but that is proving a bit trickier. We will get it sorted, but it may take a week or so. Hopefully.

  2. Oh the drama of cats in crates in cars! We had to sedate my mom's cat. He would get so upset he would throw up and poo for hours. Glad Miss O is adjusting. And luck with the banking challenge. So pleased you made it safely.

pee ess for Mara - really, a week? Bank of Scotland only wanted my passport as proof I was permanent and they couldn't get it done quickly enough. Oh, my Scottish birth certificate may have helped... sigh... YAM xx

  5. Miss Oswin....bless your heart and that of your devoted mom as I know she was a wee bit worried getting your travel plans made. Next thing I know you'll be meowing with a Gaelic accent. Hugs to you all and Gera for all her help.

  7. Poor Miss Oswin, what a long trip ! It will take her some time to get used to the new environment. But I see she eats so that's a good sign. Are you living with your sister for the moment ?
