The tree

I don't like to put up my Christmas decorations early. I start on or after December 5th and that is the end of it. In fact, even though my Christmas cards are written and stamped, I will not post them until that day!

So, what do you ask is that Christmas tree doing in this post? Well, I decorated it. Yep, you read right. I decorated it. Although I hasten to add: it's not my own. It's the one at work.

Last year someone had hung some baubles in the tree willy-nilly. Not nearly enough and either with huge gaps in between or so close together, you couldn't get a piece of paper in between. So, I redid the whole thing.

And then this year, I was told to do it again. Not redo, just do. Which I did. For some reason Norwegians have this vertical decoration. Ie, vertical hanging tinsel. I don't like it and since I decorated: horizontal. Much better. But, if you look closely, there is one strand of beads hanging down. I do, after all, live in Norway!

OH yes that looks 'proper'... the tradition here is to decorate on First Sunday of Advent; quite a few windows are looking prettier this week! I do have a (smallish) tree, but the sciatica rather curbed the enthusiasm. I have put up the very small cold one in the window, with the card string (three cards already) and a bit of tinsel. In the kitchen, the rubber plant has been tinseled too. That's about as much energy as I can muster for the jollities this year - more might get added. You never know! YAM xx

    1. As far as my Christmas decs go: Not a single thing! I am almost done with my first wreath though. Only a few more things to knit and add and done. Then it's on to the second one.

I also need to find some string for my Christmas cards. So far I've gotten two, but I am hoping for a few more of course!

    1. I had a White Christmas twice in my life. The first time was in France in 1991. Knee deep we were, which was good, since I worked in a ski resort!

The second time was in England only two years later. However, there was no snow to be seen, it was all fog! It was a complete white-out and it lasted for several days that Christmas.

  7. Oh, yes, horizontal is much better! I do not put my tree up until later in December, because we keep it up until January. As for Christmas cards, they are not even ordered yet. I'd better get going with that!
