O is for...

Open tour

When you find yourself in a new city, it may be bit daunting. One way to see a new city is taking a tour. You can do that by foot, but if you haven't been somewhere before, how do you know what would be nice to see.

Another way to do it, is by bus. Most touristy towns and cities now have open top double decker buses that show you the sites. So, you won't miss the Eiffeltower or the Notre Dame when you're in Paris.

This was the bus my sister and I took when we were in Paris in May this year. It was cold. It was windy. But we didn't miss anything. We saw everything. We heard what it was and promptly forgot most of it again. We could have gotten off at any point, looked around and gotten on the next one to continue our journey. All for one price! The next day we took a different tour and it was still included in the price. Great value for money!

For more O-words from around the world, please check out ABC Wednesday and join in the fun!

Nifty, Mara!!
Dick fell in love with the hop-on-hop-off Open top double decker buses in Barcelona. I thought I'd never see him again after I got off and went to the hotel to rest.
It's a great idea and a great post for O day.

Ooooo! that sounds like such fun. I've never ridden On One of those Open buses. Great choice for "O" day.

I love open top double decker buses. In Cornwall we made a tour in such a bus. The weather was sunny and warm. It was lovely and we enjoyed the ride very much.
So you've got the two books of Ot and Sien: lucky you! I have never seen either of them, but I saw other similar books of the "aap, noot, mies...." kind. When I went to the concentration camp I had to leave all my books behind.

I once did the same in Paris with a group of Norwegian youngsters, only ours was red :-)

Highly recommended.

I, too, have found that the best way to see it all and find places that really call to me for a return visit! Excellent O post!
