10. Tattoo (reprise)

It was uncomfortable, but didn't hurt. It wasn't as big as Johnny originally planned, but still looks great. It was done in under an hour and I now know that if and when I move, I won't hesitate to get another one on the other shoulder!

For now though, this one will be enough. Right now it's covered in vaseline and clingfilm (I feel like a chicken about to go into the oven) and I can't take a bath or go to the sauna for two weeks, but I like it.

  3. OH, and it's a TULIP.
    How very Hollandaise. Or Hollandesque.
    Um, let's try again...
Mara, my dear, you now have a certain je ne sais quoi. Distinguishes you from all the other bus drivers.
Hmm, that doesn't sound quite right.
Mara, you have a tattoo and it's a tulip too. C'est si bon. (Notice I don't speak Dutch, or indeed even very much French, despicable in an intelligent Canadian.)
    Ah, I have it.
Tres elegante, cherie. C'est vous, cherie, c'est vous.
I'm having entirely too much fun here, and it's past my bedtime.
    Bon soir. A demain.

  4. I have to admit I'm not a tattoo kind of person(old fogey), but this is very pretty, and appropriate. Besides which, entirely too many of them are of a rose.

  6. It's lovely but I'm still unconvinced that tats are for me.

  8. I've thought about getting a tattoo, but I suppose that thinking is as far as I'll go.

  11. Nice! I like the placement because you can show or hide it as you please. I'll go write a post with tattoo pictures now. You showed me yours, I'll show you mine :)

  13. It's beautiful. You are being one wild girl on your vacation. All kidding aside I really like it. You are braver then I would be.

  14. I saw a girl with POW! tattooed on her neck the other day! This is a good deal more tasteful and appropriate, though I wouldn't want one myself.

  15. Crikey Mara ...... I love it and so appropriate, aye?? My Mum's ancient and she doesn't like tattoos but even she said yours is nice. Mum has 3 daughters. Two of them are tattoo free but the youngest and my favourite (but don't tell anyone) has a tattoo of a flower on her FOOT. On her FOOT!!! What's that all about???

    1. Well, it is now five years later and the colour has faded somewhat, so I will need it to be touched up at some point. But I still like it.

A tattoo on her foot? That must have hurt!
